Community Care Voucher Centers (CCVC)
In order to ensure child care subsidy availability throughout Essex County, the State of New Jersey has provided a limited number of dedicated community care voucher slots to approximately 30 child care centers. Applicants must reside in Essex County. Application can be picked up at the child care center. However, the application along with all the necessary documents must be forwarded to Programs for Parents for processing. (click here for a list of centers with dedicated CCVC slots)
To be eligible for the Community Care Voucher Center (CCVC), parents present in the household must be:
- Employed full time, a minimum of 25 hours per week
- Enrolled in a school/training program, a minimum of 20 hours per week
- Enrolled in College 12 credit hours per semester (Fall and Spring) and 9 credit hours in the summer
- In a combination of work and school
Household income must also meet the following requirements. Families earning up to 250 percent of the federal poverty level qualify for subsidies. After one year, a family remains eligible with an income up to 250 percent of the federal poverty level. (click here for Income Eligibility chart) to see if you qualify.
